AMR Bio: Commercial Update

We are pleased to provide a commercial update on AMR Bio Limited (AMR Bio), the clinical-stage biotechnology company focused on infection prevention and antimicrobial resistance (AMR).

AMR Bio’s lead asset, XF-73, is a Phase 2b first-in-class topical antimicrobial designed to prevent post-surgical infections by rapidly eliminating harmful bacteria prior to surgery. The programme is now advancing towards Phase 3 clinical development, with operational, regulatory and commercial preparations underway.

The update follows the acquisition of key XF platform assets from Destiny Pharma in September 2025, alongside a c.£1.3 million funding round led by EMV Capital to support the establishment and commercialisation of the business. The acquired assets included the XF-73 Nasal Investigational New Drug (IND) application, FDA Fast Track status and Qualified Infectious Disease Product (QIDP) designation. Cardinal Health has since been appointed as AMR Bio’s US regulatory agent to support the FDA submission process.

In the UK, the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) has granted XF-73 Accelerated Access status under the Innovative Licensing and Access Pathway (ILAP), supporting an accelerated route to market.

AMR Bio is now focused on obtaining FDA guidance for the Phase 3 clinical pathway, progressing GMP manufacturing preparations and advancing regulatory and commercial planning for both the Nasal and Dermal programmes. The company is also exploring partnerships to support Phase 3 studies and future commercialisation.

XF-73 Nasal previously demonstrated a 99.5% reduction in bacterial nasal carriage in a 124-patient Phase 2b study involving open heart surgery patients. AMR Bio believes the asset has significant commercial potential within the growing surgical site infection market, which is projected to reach $17.95 billion globally by 2034.

Dr Ilian Iliev, CEO of EMV Capital and Investment Director of AMR Bio, commented:

“AMR Bio’s mission is focused and urgent. Its XF-73 asset represents a highly compelling investment opportunity with significant clinical and commercial potential, addressing the silent pandemic affecting every country and region.

“The experienced leadership is executing across regulatory strategy, manufacturing, commercial planning, and stakeholder engagement, with the goal of delivering for patients and shareholders alike.

“Through EMV Capital’s EIS investment practice and Venture Build model we are providing hands-on support, while providing our investors with additional exposure to this exciting and socially impactful project.”
