Appointment of new Group CFO and creation of Portfolio CFO role
We are delighted to announce the appointment of Anesh Patel as Group Chief Financial Officer (non-Board) with Stephen Crowe, the Company’s current CFO, transitioning to a newly created role of Portfolio CFO. Both changes are expected to take effect from 1 December 2025.
Bringing over 20 years of experience, Anesh qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Ernst & Young before taking on investment banking and senior leadership roles within AIM-quoted life sciences companies – expertise that aligns perfectly with EMV Capital’s focus on corporate finance, M&A, portfolio management, and venture development.
As Portfolio CFO, Stephen will support an orderly handover before concentrating full-time on providing senior financial and accounting services to selected EMVC portfolio companies. These services will be paid for by the respective portfolio companies.
As the Group continues to scale, the need for dedicated financial support across the portfolio has grown. Having been with the Company for more than seven years, Stephen is exceptionally well positioned to take on this mandate.
Dr Ilian Iliev, CEO of EMV Capital, commented:
“As the Group continues to grow, we are expanding our senior finance leadership. Stephen has been instrumental in helping build EMV Capital to where it is today, and I am delighted that he will continue to support our portfolio companies in a dedicated capacity. His move into the Portfolio CFO role allows us to deploy his strengths even more directly into supporting our portfolio.
“We are equally pleased to welcome Anesh to EMV Capital. His blend of financial leadership, capital-markets experience and sector expertise makes him exceptionally well aligned to our next phase of growth. He joins the Group at an important time as we continue to build scale across the organisation and drive towards break-even within our core operations.”
We are thrilled to welcome Anesh to the Group and to congratulate Stephen on his new role.
