EMV Capital’s EIS practice invests in OctaiPipe to advance AI cooling optimisation for data centres

We are delighted to have participated in OctaiPipe’s latest investment round. OctaiPipe is a UK-based innovator in AI-driven software for optimising data-centre cooling. It was originally backed at seed stage by our fund Martlet Capital. Through our EIS practice we are proud to co-invest alongside ABB Motion Ventures and other VCs to support the company as it builds the future of safe, secure, scalable and sustainable AI infrastructure.

As demand for data-centre capacity continues to grow and cooling represents a major share of energy consumption, solutions that improve efficiency are becoming essential. OctaiPipe’s on-premise AI platform enables up to 30% energy savings in cooling, with rapid deployment and very short payback periods – all without the need for new hardware. This gives operators a practical way to cut energy demand, enhance resilience and meet rising regulatory and sustainability expectations.

At EMV Capital, we recognise how vital the technologies being developed by university spinouts and startups are in addressing the mounting pressures on global energy systems. In our recent paper on the future of AI infrastructure, we outlined why a whole-stack approach to innovation and deployment is necessary to ensure that AI’s expansion remains both economically transformative and sustainable.

OctaiPipe was featured as a leading example within our portfolio, offering scalable solutions that reduce power usage, improve system efficiency and support lower-carbon, more resilient data-centre operations.
